| Aim: The course aims to provide students with an active command of basic vocabulary and phrases within the technical-economic field an ability to read and understand complicated, economic texts and normal, technical texts some ability to express themselves orally in French an ability to write memos and reports in the technical-economic field some knowledge of the present-day political and social structure of French-speaking countries. Prerequisites: French as a second foreign language or equivalent.Course organization: The course starts in the latter part of period 2, with an examination after period 3. It is continued in period 4, which is followed by a course in France in June. The course is completed in period 1 in I4, with oral and written examinations. The students finance the course in France themselves. Course content: The course is given in French.The following components are included. Stage 1 A systematic repetition of essential elements of French grammar. Practical exercises. Review of the French sound system. Systematic oral and listening comprehension exercises. Oral reports. Stage 2 Study of expository prose and texts from newspapers and magazines. Compulsory assignments based on group projects at firms and enterprises carried out in France. Oral reports. Stage 3 Activities focused on topical tecnical texts various economic sectors in France the internal structure of companies French annual reports comparisons with the Swedish balance sheet.
