Aim: The intent of the course is to give knowledge of and insights into the purpose of analysing and understanding leadership -, development - and changing processes within groups and organizations. The knowledge will also prepare for work with the development of staff and organization from a leadership perspective. Special emphasis is given the role of a project leader.Course content: The course has its roots in theory of organizations and will through plays of organization illustrate phenomena and happenings in organizations and groups. A special care will be taken of the relationship between the leader and the led people, power and authority and also how work leadership, group processes and participatory leadership might be designed. Concepts as selling strategy, staff strategy and leadership strategy are being treated through theories and models of leadership. The tasks of the chief and the leader are being analysed. The relation between style and philosophy of leadership and strategies of changes are discussed. Seminars: Two half days are devoted to plays of organizations and other relational exercises followed by analyses. Large seminars: The students are given small project assignments consisting of going out to industries and investigating specific subjects within the areas of leadership, staffing and organization.
