| Aim: The objective is to give an overview of principles and methods of modern measurement technology. Prerequisites: Basic courses in physics, chemistry, electronics and biology.Course organization: Lectures, experimental work and demonstrations.Course content: Components and functions in a measurement system; sensor, signal conditioning, linearisation, data transmission, A/D-conversion, collection, handling and presentation of data. About tools for measuring and datahandling, LabVIEW. Sensors for measuring important quantities as temperarutre, flow, pressure, level. Biological and optical methods in environmental measurement technology. Semiconductor sensors. About evaluation of data; neural nets, fuzzy logic, multisensing. Quality in measurements; calibrations and traceability. Methods for assigning inaccuracies.Course literature: Compendium, instructions for experimental work. | ||
