| Aim: The course is aimed to give a short survey of the fundamentals of general chemistry. Inorganic chemistry is presented from the periodic table, with emphasis on material science aspects. Methods of modern organic chemistry (structural analysis) and basic physical chemistry with experimental methods are shortly reviewed. Prerequisites: Swedish "Gymnasium" N or T. Course organization: Lectures and laborations.Course content: Stoichiometry and equilibria with applications in solubility and acid-base reactions. Survey of inorganic chemistry including chemical bonding, molecular structure, structural chemistry of solids and corrosion. Reaction kinetics with applications in biochemistry.
