| Aim: The course aims at providing deeper understanding of the principle and application of sensors in medicine and biology. A major part of the course is project-oriented and the participants design, construct and evaluate a sensor for a specific purpose. Prerequisites: TBME 50 Biomedical EngineeringCourse organization: Lectures and seminars (14h) and a project work (26h).Course content: Identification of the measurement problem, sensor techniques Physical principles for registration of biomedical parameters Measurement techniques, signal-noise-ratio, measurement errors Special sensors, e.g. fiberoptics Biocompatibility Project work e.g. sensors for measurement of body temperature, ultrasound sensors, fiberoptic sensors for pressure measurement Course literature: Compendium Medicinska givare, IMT. | ||
