TATM62 Calculus, second course, 4 p (sw)

Aim:
To give the student familiarity with basic mathematical analysis such as is necessary for further studies in basic technical subjects.

Prerequisites:
TATM 72 Analysis A, TATM 73 Analysis B, TATM 31 Algebra M or equivalent.

Course content:
Vector analysis: gradient, divergence and rotation (curl) operators. Scalar fields and vector fields. Line and surface integrals. Gauß' and Stokes' theorems. Conservative fields. Curvilinear coordinates. Laplace transforms: calculation rules, inverse transforms, convolution. Applications, particularly to linear differential equations with constant coefficients. The course will give proficiency in the use of concepts and relations, such as the integration of vector fields; the solution of linear equations with constant coefficients. Applications are given by mathematical models from physics and mechanics.
