Aim: The course deals with analytic functions. It will give proficiency in analytic function theory in order to treat problems in fluid mechanics, theoretical mechanics and physics. Prerequisites: TATM 72 Analysis A, TATM 73 Analysis B and TATM 31 Algebra M.Course organization: Teaching is done in lectures and problem classes.Course content: Functional series. Pointwise and uniform convergence. Integration and differentiation of functional series. Complex numbers. The concept of analytic function. harmonic functions. Elementary analytic functions. Line integrals. Cauchy's integral theorem. Taylor and Laurent series. Calculus of residues. The argument principle. Conformal mappings. Applications: distribution of zeroes, fluid and potential problems.Course literature: Churchill, Brown: Complex Variables and Applications. 6th edition, McGraw-Hill, International edition. |
