| Aim: To give basic mathematical knowledge about complex numbers, vectors and matrices to prepare for further courses in optimisation theory, physics and economics. Prerequisites: Lycée mathematics (natural sciences or technical line).Course organization: Teaching is done through lectures and problem classes.Course content: Complex numbers. Polynomials. Geometrical vectors, straight lines and planes. Scalar and Vector products. determinants and matrices. Linear systems of equations. vector spaces, particularly and subspaces of Orthogonal transformations. Eigenvalues and eigenvectors, diagonalisation of matrices and quadratic forms. Linear mappings.
