Aim: After completion of courses Botany 1 and Botany 2 the student have acquired knowledge of the structure, systematics, development and physiology of plants. In addition, the student have carried out an independent work by planning, executing and presenting a small investigation. Prerequisites: General Chemistry ,20 points and Biology, 20 points (Cell Biology, Genetics, and Microbiology), or equivalent. Course organization: Lectures, laboratory work, seminars and also an individually project, to train to perform a scientific investigation.Course content: This course includes a survey of the most important groups of algae and the Kingdom Fungi. Photosynthesis, growth and development are dealt with. This course includes applied botany in fields such as agriculture, forestry, and gardening. An independent project is executed.
