Aim: The course aims to give basic knowledge within pharmacology.Prerequisites: Accepted to the educational program of chemistry with participation of NKEC52 Biochemistry, 10p Course organization: The course theory exist of lectures as well as pharmacological problems according the basics for problem based learning. Laboratory projects include in vitro experiments as well as computer simulations Course content: Theory: General pharmacology, receptor theory and respiratory and pharmacokinetics, pharmacology of the nervous system, cardiovascular pharmacology as well as anti-microbial and analgetic drugs. Laboratory projects include receptorcharacterization and receptorradioligand binding, pharmacology of the blood, bloodpressure control. Relevant parts of physiology and cellbiology are integrated in educational moments.Course literature: Pharmacology 2nd ed 1997, Harvey & Champe. |
