TTIT51 | Project, 30 ECTS-points /Projekttermin/ Advancement level: C | |
Aim: To work in project is an important part of an engineer's tasks. In this term you will - Learn to work in a project organization and gain knowledge about project planning and project management. - Develop experience working together with people from different disciplines. Specifically, students of Economics and Psychology participate in parts of the project work. - Develop experience with many aspects of a project. Besides solving technical problems, you must understand economic aspects and how a product influences the people in an organization. - Develop basic knowledge in different subjects as Compiler Technology, Computer Hardware and Architecture, Business Economics, Human-Computer Interaction, Numerical Algorithms and Psychology. - Develop experience appling theoretical knowledge in practical project work. - Develop experience with documentation and presentaion of project work. Course organization: ProjectCourse content: Computer Hardware and Architecture : Design of a control unit, i.e. a simple computer. Design of hardware and software for a computer controlled robot. Business Economics: Basic marketing and estimation of return on investment. Compiler Technology: Basic understanding of concepts in programming language implementation, especially compilation, and their relation to the underlying hardware, such as parsing, code generation, and memory management. Human-Computer Interaction: Analysis and design of usable computer systems. Numerical Algoriths: Basic theoretical and practical knowledge of how to construct simple Numerical Algorithms in order to to get results with sufficient accuracy in a reasonably short time. The topics cover the basic ideas of: Error Estimation, Computer Arithmetic, Nonlinear Equations, Interpolation and Splines, Numerical Linear Algebra and Ordinary Differential Equations. Psychology: Basic knowledge of the structure and processes of work groups is presented. Based on their own experiences the students are also given the opportunities to explore the way in which psychological knowledge and the support from behavioral intervention methods can facilitate the work of their own project teams. Process consultation resources are therefore offered to the teams by third-year students of psychology. Communication studies: Text revision and criticism.
