TSRT16 | Automatic Control, advanced course, 6 ECTS-points /Reglerteknik fk M/ Advancement level: C
Aim: The course shall give an understanding of the effects of non-linearities in feed-back control systmems and knowledge in digital signal processing. The course shall also give knowledge about how to use modern software in these areas. In more detail the goals are the following: * Understanding of fundamental problems with non-linearities in feed-back control systems * Ability to carry out stability analysis of feed-back control systmes containing static non-linearities * Understanding of the effects of sampling and pre-filtering of signals * Understanding of and ability to use FFT for signal analysis * Understanding of and ability to carry out basic design of discrete time filters Prerequisites: TSRT 15 Automatic Control MCourse organization: The course is organized in lectures, lessons, computer exercises and laboratory work.Course content: Non-linearities in feed-back control systems. The circle criterion, describing function, phase protrait. Continuous time signals, frequency separation, Fourier transform. Sampling, aliasing, the sampling theorem, anti-alias filtrering. Discrete time Fourier tranform, FFT. Discrete time systems, difference equations. z-transform, transfer functions, stability. Filter design.Course literature: Compendia.
