Aim:
The aim of the course is to give knowledge on the principles and methods of computer generation of synthetic images, animations and interactive graphical applications.

Prerequisites:
TSEA 20 Computer Hardware and Architecture D or TSEA 19 Computer Hardware and Architecture Y or TSEA 10 Computer Hardware and Architecture, introductory course. Basic programming knowledge.

Course organization:
Lectures and lab exercises.

Course content:
Application areas. Display units. Generation of primitives: lines, curves, filled areas. Raster graphics: frame buffer, scan conversion, color table. Twodimensional graphics: geometric transformations, window, viewport, clipping. Threedimensional graphics: object representations, geometric transformations, projection, perspective, hidden surface removal. Realism: illumination models, raytracing, radiosity. Color science. Halftoning. Visualization. Real-time animation.
