TNG015 | Signals and Systems, 6 ECTS-points /Signaler och system/ Advancement level: B
Aim: The course gives introduction and basic knowledge in digital signal processing. After the course, the students should be familiar with time and frequency descriptions of signals and linear signal processing systems, practical understanding of signalprocessing and tools for analysis (MATLAB). Prerequisites: TNG002 Linear Algebra, TNG010 Calculus in Several Variables, TNG014 Transform TheoryCourse organization: The teaching is done in lectures, classes, and lab exercises.Course content: Mathematical models of signals and signal processing systems. Properties such as linearity, causality, stationarity and periodicity. Spectral representation of signals using Fourier series and Fourier transforms. Spectrograms. Sampling and recontstruction; aliasing and folding. Linear systems and filter: analysis and synthesis using the z-transform.Course literature: Kamen, Heck: Fundamentals of signals and systems using MATLAB, Prentice-Hall, 1997.
