Aim:
The aim of the course is to give knowledge about methods and machines used for shape and property changes of materials in the mechanical industry. The course will illustrate the interaction between computer aided design and manufacturing and give knowledge about numerical controlled machines and the programming of these machines. Ability to apply calculation methods for the manufacturing processes used in the mechanical industry. Knowledge of possibilities/limitations of different machines, and knowledge of organization in modern production through connecting separate machines with handling equipment and computers to form a production system. Knowledge about measurement technology and quality interaction, and production adapted construction.

Course organization:
Teaching in the form of lectures, classes, exercises and laboratory work. One educational visit to industry. The course i divided into two parts.
