TMKM06 LK Engineering Materials for Lightweight Applications, 6 ECTS-points
/Lättkonstruktion - LK - Lätta konstruktionsmaterial/

Advancement level:
D

Aim:
The aim of the course is to present basic knowledge about polymer based composites. The student will be able to calculate stiffness, stress and strain condition and predict failure for some simple geometries. The student will obtain increased knowledge about manufacturing and testing of fibre composites and see some practical examples where the anisotropic nature of the composite is used. He/she will obtain increased knowledge about light alloys for advanced applications, their physical metallurgy, processing and mechanical properties including fatigue. This knowledge should also be applied in communicating and solving industrial problems.

Prerequisites:
M: Algebra, Solid Mechanics, Engineering Materials basic course, Engineering Materials-Design. Y: Linear Algebra, Engineering Materials I I: Algebra, Solid Mechanics, Engineering Materials I
