TMHP53 Fluid Power System Design, 6 ECTS-points
/Fluid systemkonstruktion/

Advancement level:
D

Aim:
The purpose of the course is to provide broad, in-depth knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic system design. It provides the basis for dimensioning and designing systems. The approach treats both the mobile and the industrial sectors, as well as automatization technology. Considerable time is devoted to dynamic considerations. Modern analysis tools in the form of simulation programs are used. In several sections concerns related to marketing, production engineering, and economics issues are addressed. Environmental aspects and the possibility of ergonomically appropriate solutions are discussed.

Prerequisites:
TMHP 20 Fluid power systems, TSRT 15 Automatic engineering M.

Course organization:
Teaching is in the form of lectures, classes and laboratory exercises.

Course content:
Hydraulic valves: Valve combinations. Control units for directional control valves. Poppet valves as directional control valves. Proportional and servo valves. Static and dynamic properties in pressure and flow control valves. Components for storage, lines, cleaning and cooling of hydraulic fluids. Accumulators, reactive and energy-absorbing attenuators. Systems: Mobile and industrial applications. Load-sensing hydraulic systems. Non-stationary flow - surges in systems. Pressure pulsations in the pipe-line system - analysis of interference sources, line models, and noise reduction. Pneumatic mechanics: charging and uncharging of volumes, pneumatic signal transmission, pneumatic springs. Systems: methods for solving pneumatic system assignments, pneumatic servo systems - valves, sensors converters, dynamic properties.
