TMAL61 Fluid and Mechanical Aircraft Systems, 6 ECTS-points
/Fluida och mekaniska flygsystem/

Advancement level:
D

Aim:
The aim of the course is to provide engineers with extensive proficiency in systems engineering. The course will provide skills in design and dimensioning of the systems required to achieve the functions of the aircraft.

Prerequisites:
TMHP 20 Fluid power systems, TSRT 15 Automatic engineering M, TSRT 20 Modeling industrial systems.

Course organization:
Instruction is carried out in the form of lectures, classes and laboratory exercises.

Course content:
The course treats the hydraulic supply system, hydraulic positions servo, aircraft engine control, fuel system, pneumatic system, mechanical system and compiled systems (i.e. landing gear). Design and dimensioning are carried out based on static and dynamic properties as well as reliability aspects. System simulation: Modeling of fluid and mechanical components included in the aircraft system as well as methods for simulating the total system. Optimization algorithms, based on simulation, for optimizing aircraft systems.

Course literature:
"Aircraft systems" by Ian Moir and Allan Seabridge (Longman Scientific & Technical, 1992) and compendium.
