Aim:
The course aims to give knowledge about the environmental effects and the use of different materials, for example plastics and metals. The course also aims to increase the knowledge about the flow of materials in the technosphere, recycling, waste management and how the exploitation of the natural resources can become sustainable. You will also learn how to write a scientific paper by doing an assignment.

Prerequisites:
Chemistry 3,5 p from civil engineering studies, Environmental Science and Environmental Technology desirable but not compulsory.

Course organization:
The course includes lectures, seminars, assignments, study visits to different companies and laboratory work.

Course content:
The course deals with the environmental effects from different materials, especially metals, plastics and surface treatments from a recycling perspective. An important component is the study visits that illustrate the different parts of the course.
