TFMÄ77 Project Work in Measurement Technology, 5,3 ECTS-points
/Mättekniskt projektarbete/

Advancement level:
D

Aim:
To give practical knowledge of how to design a real measurement system, including construction of interface electronics for sensors and software for data acquisition. To give experience in planning and working in project form.

Prerequisites:
Basic cources in measurement technology, electronics and programming.

Course organization:
The major part of the course is in form of a project work distributed over two periods. The course is given in English if students from abroad are attending.

Course content:
A measurement task decided in agreement with the supervisor should be realized. This is done in groups of 2-4 students which designs a smaller subsystem for collection, processing and presentation of various measurement parameters. Each group has to construct the hardware and software necessary for realizing their task and each subsystem should be an integrated part of the whole system, which requires cooperation with other groups. A project leader will be nominated. The major software tool used is LabVIEW and internet based solutions are sought whenever possible.

Course literature:
The participants have to find the literature necessary for fulfilling the task by themselves.

PRA1Oral presentation and a written report of the project, 3,5 p.
The groups should present their result orally and a written report of the project should be made. Only the grades passed/not passed are given.

Course language is Swedish or English.
