Aim:
The student will consolidate and develop his/her knowledge in basic Japanese for the future studies of the technical language. Furthermore, the student will deepen his/her knowledge of the Japanese people and culture, education, industry and business, partly in a comparative perspective.

Course organization:
The course contains lectures, exercises in small groups (pronunciation, oral presentations), seminars, oral and written work.

Course content:
Review and in-depth grammar studies and the basicJapanese syntax structure (Grammar I). Pronunciation and phonetic excercises, conversation on economic and technical subjects. Technical vocabulary studies. Text studies, general basic as well as economic/technical vocabulary. The history of Japan, religion, culture, constitution, economic and industrial profile, philosophy and business structures will be studied and analyzed.
