TDEI50 Modelling and Simulation, 2,3 ECTS-points
/Modellbyggnad/

Advancement level:
C

Aim:
The course is divided into two main parts: -During the first part of this course the student will get knowledge about how to build models on the basis of large amount of data, analyse and use them. The course will also show how to use a special type of software in order to deal with the whole process of modelling. -The second part of the course is dedicated to the simulation process. The student will get knowledge about how to build, verify, validate and analyse the experiment results from a simulation project.

Prerequisites:
TAOP 02 Introduction to operations research, TAMS 65 Mathematical statistics, second course.

Course organization:
Lectures will describe different methods which are possible to use in order to formalise, analyse and use huge bank of data. The course includes a number sessions of practical work at the computer lab. During the course the student will have access to the lab as long as he will need it.

Course content:
Theory about mathematical models. Statistics and dynamic models. Modelling with help of regression analysis, simulation process, verification, validation and experimentation with a simulation model. The planned exercises for this course include: -time series analysis -data reduction -experiment planning -simulation
