Aim: The aim of this course is to present the use of information technology for efficient information handling within the health care organisation with special emphasis on computer-based patient record systems, and infrastructure for data communication between different levels of health care. Other important aspects dealt with are security and privacy issues. A main goal of the course is to develop the ability to critically judge requirements and demands on medical information systems.Prerequisites: TBME02 Anatomy and Physiology or BME50 Biomedical EngineeringCourse content: Information retrieval, medical information sources, literature databases, search systems.
