Aim:
To give those elements of linear algebra which are needed, for example, in mechanics, optimisation theory and materials science.

Prerequisites:
Lycée mathematics (natural sciences or technical lines).

Course organization:
Teaching is done in lectures and problem classes.

Course content:
The first topic is vector algebra and vector geometry in three dimensions, the second is the solution of linear systems of equations. The main topic is the theory of finite-dimensional real vector spaces and linear mappings between them, particularly symmetric and isometric mappings. A supplementary topic is complex numbers.
