TAMS75 Statistics, second course, 3 ECTS-points
/Planering och statistisk analys av experimentella försök/

Advancement level:
C

Aim:
The course is intended to teach the students how to use different models to analyse results from factorial experiments. Design of experiments, selection of models, and ability to interpret the results and to draw conclusions are important.

Prerequisites:
A first course in probability and a first course in statistics, for instance TAMS07 and TAMS08.

Supplementary courses:
TAMS50 Applied Probability Models TMQU17 Total Quality Control TMQU10 Total Quality Management and Methodology

Course organization:
Teaching consists of lectures, lessons and obligatory computer exercises.

Course content:
Single-factor (including random effects model), two-factor and multifactor experiments in theory and practice. Randomized blocks, Latin squares and related designs. Complete 2^k factorial designs and fractional factorial designs. Response surface methods. Guidelines for designing experiments. Transformation of data.
