Aim:
The course gives fundamental knowledge of Chemical Thermodynamics, Chemical Equilibrium, Electrochemistry and Chemical Kinetics.

Prerequisites:
General Chemistry 1 (NKEA14)

Supplementary courses:
NKEB21 Inorganic Chemistry 2, NKEB22 Organic Chemistry 2

Course organization:
The course consists of lectures, lessons and laborations. The lessons are used for exercises and problem solving connected to the theory prsented during the lectures.

Course content:
Theory: Chemical equilibrium, Acid-Base Equilibria, Solubility Equilibria, Complex-Ion Equilibria, Chemical Thermodynamics, Electro-chemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Solutions: Colligative properties and colloids. Laborations: Determination of Equilibrium Constants, Acid-Base Titration Curves, Atomic spectroscopy, Electrochemical measurements, Rates of reaction.

TEN1A written examination
LAB1A laboratory course
The examination consists of two separate parts: chemical equilibrium resp thermodynamics, electrochemistry, kinetics.
