NBIA03 Microbiology, 7,5 ECTS-points
/Mikrobiologi/

Advancement level:
A

Aim:
The course aims to give basic knowledge about micro organisms morphology, physiology and metabolism as well as ecology and evolution, including understanding for micro-organisms importance, both in nature as in medicine. The course should, furthermore, give the student practice in microbiological laboratory work.

Prerequisites:
General Chemistry 1, 2 and 3 (NKEA 11, 12 and 13 or NKEA 14, 15, 16 and 17) and Cell biology (NBIA01).

Course organization:
The course includes lectures which give a theoretical summary of the subject and in certain degrees completes and/or explains the course literature. Laborations make up a great part of the course. They exemplify the theory and the results are presented and discussed at seminars. The course includes, furthermore, group work of practical and/or theoretical character, which is to be presented both in writing and orally.
