LiTH is a part of Linköping University. The Institute offers seventeen  programs leading to a Master´s degree, seven 3 year programme leading to a Bachelor of science in Engineering and two Postsecondary Vocational Training Programme, which lasts 1 1/2 year.The undergraduate programmes lead to  Master’s degree and lower engineering and other degrees. The postgraduate education leads to the degrees of licentiate and doctor. In addition LiTH arranges a number of single subject courses. These courses are mostly intended as a form of continuing education. LiTH gives programmes and courses both in Linköping and Norrköping.

 LiTH has about 7000 full time students in undergraduate programmes and about 600 students in the doctoral and licentiate programmes.

 Each course in the undergraduate as well as in the postgraduate programmes is counted in units of credits and one academic year consists of 40 units.
