Aim:
After the course the student shall be able to describe basic concepts and theories within the area of industrial management. The student shall be able to use these concepts and theories in limited analysis of an organization. The student shall be able to present organizational analysis, written and orally. The student shall also be able to use simple project planning techniques.

Supplementary courses:
Depending on interest we recommend the students to regard the offer of courses in project management, leadership, product development, innovation and entrepreneurship displayed at the web page of the division for Project, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, IEI.

Organisation:
The cource consists of lectures, seminars and individual assignments. In addition the students are expected to read research papers and work with assignments.
The course runs over the entire spring semester


Course contents:
The course presents principles for organisational design and co-ordination; as well as basic motivation, group process, leadership theories, conflicts, learning and change in organizations, and basic project planning techniques are outlined. The course also provides practical training in organisation studies, and oral and written presentation.

Additional researchliterature will be given during the course
