Aim:
The intent of the course is to give knowledge of and insight and prepares for working with employees and organizations from a management perspective.
After the course the students shall be
- able to present and understand basic concepts, theories and perspectives about organizations and leadership.
- able to use these concepts, theories and perspectives in basic analyses of leadership processes.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
At least two years of academic studies.

Organisation:
Lectures, seminars, and independent empirical group study
|
|
Course contents:
The course has its roots in organisational theory and will through lectures and case studies introduce the students to the phenomena of leadership. A special relationship between the leader and the follower (the led), power and authority and also how the performance of a leader, the group processes and participating might be designed. Concepts of leadership will be threatened through theories and models from leadership research. The relation between style and behaviour of leadership will be discussed.
Seminars: Different seminars, in groups, will help to develop a deeper understanding of leadership and organisations. Through supervised work in groups a paper have to be prepared and discussed in the final seminar.
