Aim:
The course aims to give the students a holistic view of how companies operate and are governed. After the course the students should:
Describe and explain what it takes to start and run a business.
Describe, explain and apply different product and investment calculation methods.
Describe, explain and apply how the budget process works at a company.
Describe and explain the basics of accounting.
Describe, explain and apply an annual report by calculating key financial indicators
Communicate economic-focused information and related analyses.

Organisation:
Lectures give the background to the different areas in the course, which are then analyzed in seminars and labs. The course also includes a number of cases in which the student will be able to apply their skills in reality-based Case.

Course contents:
How to start and run a business, shares, organization, stakeholders. Cost and revenue concepts. Product profitability and investment calculations, budgeting. Bookkeeping, accounting, reporting and financial analysis.
