Aim:
After the course the student will be able to:
  • describe the principles of drug absorption, distribution and elimination.
  • describe drug / receptor interactions and their implications
  • explain the mechanisms of action of drugs acting on specific organ / body system.
  • apply pharmacological methodology

Organisation:
The course consists of lectures, laborations and seminars

Course contents:
The course includes studies in basic pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, as well as a choice of drug groups, their mechanisms of action and clinical use.
Laboratory work in the course includes theoretical and practical exercises in pharmacology methodology.
