Aim:
The course aims to give advanced level knowledge about environmental system analysis tools. After fulfilment of the course the student should be able to
  • describe different environmental system analysis tools,
  • assess strengths and weaknesses for different tools,
  • in a group, plan and apply a life cycle assessment in order to quantify and analyse environmental impacts for a specific case,
  • present and critically discuss the results from a life cycle assessment


Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Environmental Technology, Industrial Ecology

A larger life cycle assessment group project and literature seminars

Course contents:
Lice cycle assessment, material flow analysis, total material requirement, substance flow analysis, system boundaries, evaluation of different environmental impacts, allocation
