BFN102 Physics 2 for Foundation Year, 8 ECTS credits.
/Fysik 2 för basår/

For:   Bas

Prel. scheduled hours: 64
Rec. self-study hours: 149

  Area of Education: Science

Main field of studies: Other subjects

  Advancement level (G1, G2, A): 0

Aim:
The aim of the course is to provide a basic knowledge of physics, adapted for continued university studies within the areas of technology and natural science. The course provides qualifications equivalent to ?oFysik 2?.
After the course, the student should be able to:
  • Solve problems and explain phenomena in the areas mechanics, electromagnetism, wave theory and modern physics.
  • Use physical concepts and models in a mathematical form, and calculate physical quantities.
  • Perform physical experiments and analyze the results.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Physics 1 for Foundation Year

Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Supplementary courses:
Physics 3 for Foundation Year

Organisation:
Teaching consists of lectures, tutorials, compulsory laboratory work. Literature study and problem solving during self study time is also part of the course.
