Aim:
The course aims at illustrating the versatility and usefulness of the methodologies of the programme by solving applied manufacturing problems. Selected real-life cases in manufacturing management from various disciplines are assigned to student teams, responsible for the entire process of problem identification, selection of evaluation criteria, model formulation, analytical and simulation processing, solution analysis and presentation. Advisors are assigned to each case to assure the integrated treatment of relevant topics in manufacturing management.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
All courses in the Master Programme.

Organisation:
Project work in groups under supervision.

Course contents:
Multi-echelon inventory control simulation, PICSIM Production-Inventory Control SIMulator. Facility Layout Simulation Facility Location Simulation using Multi-Criteria Methods. System Dynamic Analysis of Supply Chains NC, Operational Production Activity Control Simulation. Leitstand, Shop Floor-Level Simulation.

Course literature:
Material from TDMM42 and TAMM43. Handouts for specific cases.

Examination:
A project model, report and presentation. (U,3,4,5)
