Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
TSEA03 Switching Theory and Logical Design, TSEA19, 20 Computer Hardware and Architecture, TSEA40 Digital Project Laboratory.
Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
Lectures, seminars and laboratory work. During the laboratory work sub blocks of a complete embedded system are designed and tested. (20h le, 12h se, 16h la)
|
|
Course contents:
Large VHDL blocks (IP blocks) are treated as components during the design phase. CPUs, interconnects, memories, I/O units are optimized for an application. Modification of a cross compiler for C/C++. Adaptation of OS (Linux) and application software. Simulation. Implementation in FPGA.
