Aim:
To provide extended knowledge in systematic, morphological and functional zoology.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Equivalent attended basic program of biology with fullfilled "threshold"-demands (passed 50p with a min of 25p theory).Faunistics equivalent NBIB10 must be passed.
Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
Lectures, laboratory course including experimental zoology, visiting research institutions and individual seminar presentations.

Course contents:
The course intend to provide a comprehensive knowledge within the field of systematical, morphological and functional zoology, focusing on parts of the zoology that were not dealt with during the basic course in zoology (NBIB15).

Pechenik, 2000, 4th ed. Biology of the Invertebrates. Kardong, 1997, 2nd ed. Vertebrates. Written material and laboratory manuals produced at the department.

Three different grades are given: Failed, passed and passed with distinction. To obtain the grade passed with distinction requires a passed additional written examination
