Aim:
To provide extended knowledge in vertebrate zoology including five different themes: (I) Systematics and phylogeni. (II) Functional morphology. (III) Vertebrates within a zoological garden. (IV) Domesticated vertebrates. (V) Endangered species.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Enrolment in the MSc programme in Applied Biology

Organisation:
Lectures, seminars, and individual seminar presentations. Laboratory course including dissections, demonstrations and studies of live animals. Visiting research institutions and zoological gardens.

Course contents:
The course intend to provide a comprehensive knowledge within the field of systematical, morphological and functional zoology.
