Aim:
The aim of this course is to present different computerized tools for analysing energy systems. municipal energy system, national energy systems and district heating systems will be analysed from a system perspective. Environmental and economical impacts of the analysed energy systems will covered.
The most important intellectual development a student will undertake is:
- Use different computer programs and models for energy systems analysis
- The principal details in the computer programs
- Analyse the output data from the programs
- Find the limitations and prerequisites when using the programs
|
|
Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Energy Systems
Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Supplementary courses:
International energy markets
|
|
Organisation:
The course is given in the form of lectures, tutorials and laboratory work
|
|
Course contents:
The course includes lectures of different computer programs for energy system analysis. The student learns about time segments, size of geographical areas, and different parts of societal sectors. A number of models are dealt with e.g. linear programming models for large scale energy systems
