Aim:
This course aims to give insight into fundamental evolutionary processes and principles. The student should also increase his/her ability to plan, write and present an own project. The topic for this project is chosen from one of the sub-fields of evolutionary biology or closely related areas.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Chemistry 30 ECTS and at least 60 ECTS in Biology at the A/B levels (or equivalent)
Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
Lectures, seminars and labs. En own project is complied during the course. This will eventually be presented as a seminar. Seminars and labs are compulsory.

Course contents:
The contents span history of life, adaptation, natural selection, speciation, evolution at different organisational levels (including human). Oral and written presentation.
