Aim:
Give knowledge and practical experience in systematic design and development of electronic systems, especially wireless communication systems.

Organisation:
Lectures, labs and project work. The course will last for two periods in the autumn.

Course contents:
Period 1 (Lectures+ labs): Introduction to communication electronics, transmission fundamentals, communication networks, communication protocols, antennae and wave propagation, modulation techniques, coding and error control, cellular and wireless LAN technologies, and protocols such as IEEE 802.11 and Bluetooth.
Period 2 (Project work): System or circuit design in communication electronics.
