| Aim: The course will give the student experience of working in a larger project that has the structure of a research project. Furthermore the course aims at increasing the student's knowledge of a research area within the field of environmental systems analysis. After successful completion the student is able to:

| Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered) Environmental Strategies or Technical systems and Environment or Environmental Science. Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding. |

| Organisation: The major part of the course is organised independently by the students themselves in the assignment groups (2-4 students). An introducing seminar deals with scientific methods and the project methodology. In the middle and the end of the course, the students are responsible for a seminar. The assignment of the course is to be presented both oral and written. |

| Course contents: Project methodology, introduction to scientific work and scientific methods. The topic of the assignment is discussed with the supervisor. Potential areas of interest are; material flow analysis, energy analysis, analysis of environmental management system. |

| Course literature: Individual literature for improved knowledge within the assignments is discussed together with the supervisor. |
