Aim:
After the course the student should
  • Compare how different contingencies affect projects and project management
  • Discuss and apply suitable models and methods for project planning and result monitoring during the different phases of the project monitoring during the different phases of the project
  • Analyse the interplay between the projects and line organizations
  • Understand the role of the project manager and contrast different roles in project organizations


Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
A Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering

Project Based Organisation and Management

Organisation:
The course takes a starting point in a list with requirements on necessary competencies for a project manager. This competence baseline is used for professional certification by international associations: PMI and IPMA. The course consists of lectures and seminars. The student also practically applies project methodology in exercises. The course runs over the entire autumn semester. Kursen tar sin utgångspunkt i de krav på kompetenser hos en projektledare som ställs av internationella organisationer för projektledarcertifiering: PMI och IPMA. Kursen består av föreläsningar och seminarier. Studenterna tillämpar dessutom projektmetoder i olika övningar. Kursen pågår under hela höstterminen.
