Course contents:
The course has a foundation in three key words that also provides a framework for the structure of the course: ERP system, system functionality, and system architecture. These three keywords are reflected in the whole course that has its point of departure in companies that develop ERP systems. ERP systems are today a very important support for enterprise management and control and the course provides an introduction to, and overview of, the systems available on the market today and their fundamental structure. System functionality covers support for key business processes: Executive Direction and Support, Supply Chain Integration, Customer Integration, Manufacturing Integration, and Support Services Integration. System architecture is a broad concept involving both more technological aspects such as databases, distributed systems, workflow and Internet but also enterprise modelling, meta models and modelling tools. In this context it is also important to have an understanding of the system development process.
