Course contents:
The course aims to provide knowledge in mobile communications, especially different system characteristics and their adoption within ITS. An important part in ITS design is the mobile communication to and from vehicles and cargo. The mobility puts high requirements on the communication system and these requirements together with possible solutions are an essential part of the course.
Mobile communication technologies include e.g. modulation, medium access control, mobility management, radio resource management and positioning. Covered mobile communication systems are e.g. GSM, GPRS, UMTS and WLAN.
