Aim:
The course gives advanced organic chemistry theory and advanced organic synthesis, The course also gives experimental methods in organic synthesis and the use of spectroscopy methods (NMR) in the analysis of organic compounds. The experimental part includes advanced organic synthesis laboratory techniques.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Approved NKEA11-13 General Chemistry 1-3, and attended NKEB21 Inorganic Chemistry 2, NKEB22 Organic Chemistry 2, and FKE553/NKEC53 Organic Chemistry 3, respectively.

Organisation:
The theory part includes lectures and seminars. Lessons include problemsolving. The experimental part consist of projects in connection to the research in organic chemistry.

Course contents:
The course consists of modern synthesis methods. NMR-spectroscopy and physical organic chemistry. The experimental part includes laboratory techniques and projects in connections with the ongoing researching organic synthesis.
