Aim:
To give the student familiarity with several variable calculus needed for studies in chemistry, particularly physical chemistry.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
NMAA33, Mathematics A.

Organisation:
Teaching is done in lectures and problem classes. The examination consists of a written test.

Course contents:
Functions of several variables. Partial derivatives, chain rule and error propagation. Taylors formula and local extrema. Largest and least value. Optimization with constraints. Double and triple integrals. Change of variables in multiple integrals.
