Aim:
After the course is completed each student should
- be able to describe the theory presented in the course litterature
- be able to follow instructions from a lab-manual and have knowledge how to perform a dissection, a physiologylab and have basic knowledge in how to use a microscope
- be able to construct questions and answers of their own using the course litterature and to discuss these at seminars

The first semester of the foundation year.

Organisation:
Lectures, laboratory exercises and seminars.

Course contents:
Morpology and basic funktion of pro- and eucaryota cells and cell metabolism, virus and physiology and organs; nervous system, sensory physiology, muscle, glands and hormones, digestion, blood, circulation, respiration, excretion and the immune-system.
