| Aim: The study of various models of communication: to provide a deeper understanding of language and communication building on previous courses (see prerequisites), to study similarities and differences between various theories in cognitive science (psychology, linguistics, artificial intelligence) in this area. |

| Organisation: Theoretical issues are presented in the lectures. The laboratory course comprises a study in communication. |

| Course contents: Models of human communication. Text- and dialogue structure from various cognitive science perspectives. Similarities and differences between human-human communication and human-computer communication. Philosophical considerations underlying various research traditions in the area. |
