Aim:
The study of various models of communication:
to provide a deeper understanding of language and communication building on previous courses (see prerequisites),
to study similarities and differences between various theories in cognitive science (psychology, linguistics, artificial intelligence) in this area.

Theoretical issues are presented in the lectures.
The laboratory course comprises a study in communication.

Course contents:
Models of human communication.
Text- and dialogue structure from various cognitive science perspectives. Similarities and differences between human-human communication and human-computer communication.
Philosophical considerations underlying various research traditions in the area.
