Aim:
This course is intended to meet industry's requirements for engineers with knowledge in the quality field. After completing the course the student will be able to use the most common tools and methods of quality management and will have acquired a progressive view of the quality field. After the completed course the student shall:
- show knowledge about the fundamental values and principles of Total Quality Management
- explain how to work with Total Quality Management in organisations
- describe situations where quality methods can contribute to quality improvements in relation to process and product development
- use methods for statistical process control, design of experiments and process management to solve basic problems
- have fundamental understanding about how collected information on quality improvements can be validated

Organisation:
The course is conducted in the form of lectures and seminars. To connect the course content to practice the students perform a number of industry related group assignments.
The course is given in Swedish in the spring (VT1) and in English in the autumn (HT1).

Strategies within TQM, Customer focus, Design of experiments, Statistical process control, Capability, Process management, 7 improvement and 7 management tools, Quality Management Systems with focus on ISO 9001:2008, Lean production.
